At a time when donor agencies had turned down Pakistan request for financial help, overseas Pakistan Pakistanis come to succor. Since then, massive inflows of remittances have been lending a support to national economy. That’s the reason, the incumbent government is busy increasing the number of overseas Pakistani by sending workforce abroad. The country has went too far in this regard as it has succeeded in sending around 224,705 workers to different countries for various job assignments in 2020, despite the coronavirus pandemic. Pakistan has emerged as the ‘Manpower Export Leader’ in the region. Not surprisingly, it has beaten the other regional players like Bangladesh and India in manpower export. According to the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and HR Development, Bangladesh sent 217,699 workers abroad and India 94,145 for employment purposes during last year. Gulf countries have been a popular destination for all Asian countries, particularly Pakistan. Four of the six Gulf countries — Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait and Oman —were featured in the top 10 destinations for South Asian nationals in 2017.
